​Dr. John Nan received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2010, and his Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Michigan in 2014. He then completed internship and residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he then also served as a Chief Resident in 2018.
 
Following this, he completed both his General Cardiology Fellowship and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He then trained for an additional year at Mayo Clinic specializing in Structural Heart Interventions, including the TAVR, MitraClip, and Watchman procedures.
 
Dr. Nan joined Newport Heart in the summer of 2023. He is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
