Coronary  stent  procedure

This is a 78 year old patient with a history of bypass surgery 22 years ago.
Picture
The patient had developed chest pain ("angina") during exercise and had an abnormal treadmill test.
He then underwent coronary angiography and was found to have a 95% blockage in the native coronary vessel (in this case, the circumflex - obtuse marginal branch).
A stent was successfully placed
into the artery via the bypass graft.  This resulted in relief of the patient's angina symptoms, and thus avoided the need for another
"open-heart-surgery".
