Dr. Gainer received her
Bachelor of Arts degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 1979. 
She then received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1984,  followed by an Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Loma Linda University Medical Center.  Following this she completed a Sabbatical in Interventional Cardiology at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles in 1992. 
Dr. Gainer has been in practice at Hoag Hospital
since 1992 and is Board Certified in
Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases with added qualification in Interventional Cardiology.
